Eric Steindler is a results-oriented HR leader successful at delivering strategies that positively impact financial performance while strengthening talent capability and culture. His business career spans 20 years with several leading Fortune 200 consumer products, retail and manufacturing companies. His leadership roles include a broad range of responsibilities including HR Generalist, Employee & Labor Relations, HR Governance & Compliance, Compensation, Benefits and HR Analytics.

As VP of Human Resources at Meijer, Eric leads progressive human capital strategies for the Stores organization comprised of 60,000 corporate and field team members. Recent successes include implementation of comprehensive leadership development programs, significant reduction in turnover, improved leadership effectiveness, new store and new format expansion and strengthening of Meijer’s culture and engagement. Eric thrives developing strategies and leading change initiatives that grow long-term competitive advantages.

Prior to joining Meijer in 2014, Eric served as Senior HR Director for JC Penney’s retail operations across 600 stores. Before joining JC Penney, he held the roles of Regional HR Director and Director of Compensation supporting Lowe’s retail operations across the United States and Canada.

Earlier in his career, Eric held various HR leadership roles with ThyssenKrupp, PepsiCo and Ford Motor Company where he implemented initiatives that improved financial performance and manufacturing efficiencies while instilling a stronger operational focus on customer satisfaction.

Eric holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Miami University, a Master of Arts in Industrial & Organizational Psychology from the University of North Carolina and a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University.
